About Dash
Dash launched in 2014 as XCoin, rebranded to Darkcoin, then Dash. It uses a two-tier architecture: miners secure blocks, and masternodes (collateralised with 1,000 DASH) provide PrivateSend mixing and InstantSend confirmation. Block times are ~2.5 minutes.
PrivateSend is opt-in. It mixes coins through multiple rounds (default 8) via masternode-coordinated CoinJoin. Privacy strength is less than Monero\'s default-private model but stronger than naked Bitcoin.
How to swap Dash without KYC
- Hold DASH in a self-custody wallet (Dash Core, Edge, Ledger).
- Open the widget, DASH as send, pick destination.
- Send the deposit. For maximum privacy, pre-mix your DASH via PrivateSend before depositing to the swap.
Dash privacy notes
- PrivateSend is opt-in. A standard Dash transaction is as transparent as Bitcoin.
- Mixing depth matters. More rounds = more privacy but more time and fees. Default 8 rounds is a reasonable floor.
- For privacy-critical work, prefer Monero. Dash is a "better than Bitcoin" option, not a "best available" one.
